Look, I know we all like to laugh at JKR for coming up with super-subtle names like "Remus Lupin", but today I encountered a woman called Undine Wassermann in real life, which rather goes to show that Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction and Some Parents Are Like That. Undine Wassermann! What is this, some kind of Modern World AU retelling of "The Little Mermaid", in which the mermaid ends up working as a psychologist among humans?

*lol* There's always the chance that she chose the name for herself at some later date, perhaps even from Ute or Ulrike or so. I might have been tempted in such a case! But parents might do that just as easily, and in this case the name at least is beautiful. (At least my parents had no idea our family name is potentially Hebrew when giving me a very Hebrew first name. As a result, I'm sometimes taken for Jewish, which is of course no problem but odd for a German family with no Jewish ties whatsoever at least back to the early 17th century. Some people have accused me of denying my heritage.)
