Driving to university, I was suddenly surrounded by whistling people. That is, they were, of course, in their respective cars as I was in mine. But they all had pushed their lips as though they were whistling, and they were swaying slightly.
I was confused. What was the reason for this collective action? Had they all gone demented? Was it a conspiracy? A secret form of communication? Had the Sasser virus found a way to infect humans? Had aliens meddled with their brains and forced them to behave thus strangely? Nervously, I switched on the radio to see whether there were any news about a whistling epidemic, or alien attacks.
That was a mistake. I was assimilated at once. They were playing "Always look on the bright side of life".

Auf dem Weg zur Uni war ich plötzlich von pfeifenden Leuten umgeben. Also, sie waren natürlich in ihren jeweiligen Autos, so wie ich in meinem war. Aber sie hatten alle die Lippen gespitzt, als wären sie am Pfeifen, und sie schunkelten.
Ich war verwirrt. Was war der Grund für diesen kollektiven Pfeifanfall? Hatten sie den Verstand verloren? War es eine Verschwörung? Eine geheime Art der Kommunikation? Hatte Sasser einen Weg gefunden, nun auch Menschen zu befallen? Hatten Aliens ihre Gehirnwellen in neue Bahnen gelenkt, um sie zu diesem Verhalten zu zwingen? Ein wenig ängstlich machte ich das Radio an, um zu hören, ob es irgendwie Nachrichten über Pfeifepidemien oder Alien-Angriffe gab.
Das war ein Fehler. Ich wurde sofort assimiliert. Denn da lief "Always look on the bright side of life".
