Damn, that was another of those weekends. My dear brother was out and about with his friends all night, came home in the early morning hours, fell into bed and was in a lousy mood all day. Not so surprising, he really doesn't stand a night without sleep, but today it was particularly bad.
When we had lunch, of course we called him to come and join us. No reaction. However, it was obvious he was awake (and not fast asleep, as he claimed later on). When he's playing on his computer, you can hear it in the entire house, and we did hear him playing. Alright, we ate without him. But a few hours later, my dad called for him and he didn't react, and as Dad went up to ask him, he said he'd asked "What's up". As though we could hear that with his PC on.
"Well, your lunch has been waiting for you for quite a while."
"Too late for lunch. You should have called me earler."
Since we had, of course my parents didn't find that particularly funny. Nice discussion, eventually he said they had disturbed his sleep, and since my Mom gets angry when she knows she's being lied to (what sort of grammar is that?! O.o), she got angry. Of course.
Big argument, tears, anger.
Great weekend really.
The really annoying thing is, after this sort of argument with my brother my mother tends to tell me how great and reasonable I am and how happy she is I'm still living with them and so on and so on. And the only thing I can handle even less than criticism is praise. *groan*
Things are calmer again. They talked later, I don't know the results though. I got sick of the whole thing and went out on the balcony and listened to the wind and rain in the leaves. It's finally raining after over three weeks without real rain. Strange in these lands. I'm sure it's got something to do with the late spring full moon. Anyway, it was finally raining - really raining, not just a few droplets here and there. And funny, just today I found a haiku again that I'd written in English class in Canada (on a rainy day when most people were complaining *g*)
People curse the rain
But the green tree's wet leaves
Shine even greener
Certainly nothing special, but it really fitted today. Though no one cursed the rain. They were busy cursing about other things.
*sigh*
