...Shadow of the Moon...
Nov. 9th, 2003 02:05 amWhat started out as a bright full moon night has grown steadily darker since shortly after midnight as the moon was gradually swallowed up by the Earth's shadow. Now the moon is purple with a little gleam around the edges; it looks like a very round piece of glowing coal, as though it were burning from inside. And the stars have grown ever clearer. Pretty.
As for stellar events, this year has been quite full (maybe that has had an influence on the climate as well?). The Mercury passing, the lunar and solar eclipse in spring, Mars coming closer all summer, and now another lunar eclipse. And I finally was able to watch it. :)
