Yesterday I thought nothing could be worse than a bleeding blister and general soreness when you've got four hours straight of Kendô practice.
I was wrong.
A bleeding blister and general soreness and the Monthly Red Flood including cramps and all are worse.
The practice was suprisingly survivable; kata was fun though impossible to do right; and directly afterwards, I felt almost good.
After the one-hour drive home, however, all my muscles seemed to have turned to lead. I have no idea how I am to survive tomorrow's practice, AND pass the testing.
And while I was learning Nihon Kendô kata and doing suburi and beating up other peoples' shinai and paying undue attention to a guy looking like Fëanor's firstborn (I think I shall try and cut off his right hand tomorrow), my beloved went to the Hessian Kata Championships in Judô and won first place. YAY! Although he's complaining that he and Pino made horrible mistakes, I doubt it was as bad as he says - he wouldn't have brought home that ugly ritzy tacky silver cup if they had failed so horribly. And since I haven't seen any of the mistakes either way, I'm terribly proud of him, especially as he was ill on top of everything.
Must go to bed now to cuddle my personal Hessian kata champion.
