oloriel: (unhappy)
I have to go through the texts for my presentation again (I just skimmed them so far, which is enough for the handouts, but not enough for the powerpoint presentation). I have one hour left to get that finished, and the damn thing said something about "Tolkein(sic!)-esque landscapes" for the THIRD FRIGGING TIME and I don't know why it's so difficult to write that name right. Also, in the text, someone writes in their dairy (sic!). I know about reading in tea-leaves, but in MILK PRODUCTS?!

And just to make things more difficult, I followed a link in [livejournal.com profile] eruannath's journal which led me to this absolutely wonderful story and how on earth am I supposed to read that boring text if there are 14 chapters of Silm fanfic out there? Feanor. Galadriel. Beauty beyond measure. Oh. But please. It's two Vanyar, but one Vanya. I don't know why it's so hard to keep that right. And Anthön (why the diareses? It's not like anyone would pronounce it like anything but an o.) or Suriya don't sound like anything Quenya would produce unless I didn't read a lot of important stuff (in fact, there is a lot of important stuff I haven't read, but I still can't believe it). And aren't I pathetic for getting annoyed by such trifles.

*dies*

Also, if I ever get a Japanese sentence in which there appear THREE DIFFERENT WAYS of talking about the same fucking year without making it clear that it is talking about the same fucking year, I'm going to throw up. Really. I'm a stupid student in my 3rd 5th semester. How am I to know that Keiô 4 = Meiji Gannen = 1868?! (Okay, I did know that the Meiji count of years began 1868, but I didn't know that Keiô came before and that it lasted only four years. Four years for an age. Only the Japanese.)

Grr.
