A week ago or so, I had intended to write a rant on why I dislike Valentine's Day. Firstly, because it JUST WASN'T CELEBRATED HERE at all except in English class until a few years ago when marketing suddenly noticed that you can make a lot of additional money if you tell lovers they absolutely have to show their love by getting their partner/ love interest/ crush/ whatever chocolates, roses and/ or cheesy red plush hearts on this one day. And people bought it. (As far as I am concerned, I prefer the old Mayday custom of the men putting up decorated birch boughs in variable size in front of the window of their love interest; but even then, I don't need a man to kill a tree just as a token of love, even though I'd probably be flattered). Now I like flowers. And chocolates. But I don't care about the day, really.

Anyway, that's all I'm going to say about this, because etoilepb really said it all already, so just go to her journal and read it there.

One really should think that people might get used to driving through the snow by mid-February. But noooo, every single snow-flake means OMG TEH HAZARD if you don't drive at walking speed or slower.
