Because it tickled me and I haven't pestered you with memes in too long, anyway.
First TV show I had self-insertion fantasies about:
Vicky the Viking. As a cowardly damsel-in-distress who constantly needed to be saved by Vicky - here goes my feminist cred! I think the "cowardly" bit was mainly because Vicky is scared of everything and my character somehow had to make him look good...
When I was seven, I wrote a story in which Vicky and my brother and I had to ride through the Cave of A Hundred Dragons. Just because. Vicky gets to chop off every single dragon's head with a magic sword. I typed this on a mechanical typewriter my grandmother gave me when she switched to electrical. I suspect my mother has kept it somewhere safe so I could not later on destroy it in a bout of self-censorship.
From those days, I think I've kept my admiration of red hair - and my erratic six-finger typing system...
First fandom in which I interacted (online and in person) with other fans:
Star Wars. I probably owe much of my present fluency in English to the Jedi Academy forums, and I was obsessed enough to convince my parents that my brother and I absolutely had to go to Jedi-Con when it came to Cologne.
Pairing in the first slash fanfiction I read:
Don't honestly remember. Aragorn/Some other guy, presumably, because in those days I read anything that had Aragorn in it. Bonus points if it also had Faramir and/or Éomer and/or Haldir.
First RPS/RPF I read:
None. Never got the hang of it. The closest I ever came was presumably
First fanfiction I read that made me think, YES, this is exactly the kind of fanfiction I'd like to write.
Pairing in the first fanfiction I wrote:
Not counting Vicky/Myself, I guess that would be the semi-platonic Maedhros/Fingon in TTS.
First OTP:
Qui-gon/Obi-wan. At the time, however, I didn't know that there was such a thing as slash, or whole fandom corners revolving around it, or OTPs. At the time it was a guilty pleasure I kept fantasizing about in secret.
When I had been introduced to slash fandom via the Library of Moria (thank you,
First fannish friend I met in person:
If this means "people I knew from online fandom before I met them offline", this would be Arwen, Éowyn and Néniel from the Elbenwald forums back in the olden days when we first had a forum get-together. It was fun. We'd agreed to meet at the post-box in Cologne main station, and Éowyn was going to wear a bright orange jacket. You wouldn't believe how many women in bright orange jackets there were standing around near that post-box on that day. XD
If it just means "fannish people I met at all", that would be Fee and especially Isa in school.
First character I formally roleplayed:
Lyra ca Siba, a Dathomiri girl abducted by the Evil Empire, who later on joined the Rebellion and became an X-wing pilot. Mmmmm, X-wings.
Followed by Eriol the Wanderer on the Elbenwald forums, followed very briefly by my OC Herenyo, followed by Fëanor at DF, because humility is something that happens to other people. XD
Now you know my sordid past! Tell me about yours.

Date: 2012-02-21 02:22 pm (UTC)To my shame, my first fan interaction (and where I spent the beginning of my online days at) was an X-Files fanforum. :) Also the first fannish friend who I met came from there.
My first fan (not self-insert, I can't remember if I ever made one or which I would have done) RP character was a Sith though. Shade Decker, a sex slave who was freed by a Jedi only to betray him and turn to the dark side.
(Yes, I know it's terrible. I was 14-15 at the time. What does that say about me? :D)
I hardly read fanfiction though so I can't really answer the other questions... and the only OTP I will publically admit to is Zutara.
