Found 6 classes in Cultural Anthropolgy I'd find interesting. I probably won't stick with them, I'm afraid, but for the first time, I really have freedom of choice there.
Don't know what to do in English, yet, because

kaneda hasn't yet told me which classes she'd like to take *hint, hint*. And I wonder whether I should take Old English although the class is meant for the graduate students, not for ignorant little undergraduates who have to take a third literature class because they didn't finish the first two ones. I'd love to, though.
As for that, having failed Japanese isn't that bad actually. It gives me a lot of time and choice. Unfortunately, the English seminar seems to have decided to offer very few interesting classes for undergraduates this term, so I have to spend the time on less interesting stuff. Gah.

In other news, our respective parents finally managed to drown the honorifics [in red wine and whisky, respectively]. Wait, I have to explain for the English-speaking world. So, as you may know or not, German has several translations for "you". There's a polite translation - Sie, a plural translation (which is also old-fashioned polite) - ihr, and the ordinary du, which corresponds to English old-fashioned "thou" - used among equals, friends, family, or from higher-ranking to lower-ranking. Now up to recently, my parents adressed Jörg with Sie, just as his mother adressed me with Sie. My parents offered the informal du on Easter, and now Jörg's mother offered it. Of course, the result is merely that I didn't adress her at all anymore, because it feels weird and I couldn't yet get myself around to do it. Eh. And this is all very boring anyway, but I felt like writing it. Yes. What does that make me now, almost family? Basically accepted?

The end of the renovations is now in reach, huzzah! And we have tv again. Figures that there's nothing interesting on tv tonight though...

Habe 6 Ethno-Kurse gefunden, die mich interessieren würden. Vermutlich halte ich das nicht alles durch, fürchte ich, aber immerhin habe ich erstmalig richtig die Wahl.
Weiß noch nicht, wie es mit Englisch aussieht, weil

kaneda mir noch nicht mitgeteilt hat, was sie da machen will *hint, hint*. Und ich überlege, ob ich mal Old English ausprobieren sollte, obwohl das für die Leute im Hauptstudium gedacht ist, nicht für dumme kleine Grundstudenten, die zum dritten Mal LitWiss B machen müssen, weil sie es die ersten beiden Male nicht zu Ende gebracht haben. Jedenfalls würde ich gern.
In dieser Hinsicht ist es tatsächlich gar nicht schlecht, dass ich Japanisch verloren habe. Ich habe plötzlich Zeit und Auswahl. Dummerweise scheint das Englische Seminar sich vorgenommen haben, dieses Semester fürs Grundstudium kaum interessante Kurse anzubieten, so dass diese wunderbare Zeit für zweite Wahl draufgehen wird. Gah.

Ansonsten ist da noch, dass unsere jeweiligen Eltern endlich das Sie haben fallen lassen [es wurde in Rotwein bzw Whisky etränkt]. Meine Eltern sind damit schon Ostern angekommen, heute dann auch Jörgs Mutter. Der Erfolg war denn, dass ich sie gar nicht mehr direkt angesprochen habe (nur noch über "sollen wir" oder "man könnte"), weil es mir komisch vorkäme, sie zu duzen, und ich es mich einfach nicht traue. Eh. Und das interessiert sowieso keinen, aber mir war danach. Ja. Was macht mich das jetzt? Beinahe-Familie? Prinzipiell akzeptiert?

Bin ja schon still.

Ein Ende der Renovierungen ist in Sicht, hurra! Und wir haben endlich Fernsehen. Prompt kommt heute Abend natürlich nix Interessantes...
