To end my celebration of words for today: I just finished reading applegnat's Vain Songs and... oh my goodness. I'm so overwhelmed it's not even pathetic anymore. I think I'm dying of beauty now. Oh my goodness. Nol, I worship you.

Other positive stuff:
-Drove my brother to the Schatzkammer, a store for LARP and medieval costumes in Cologne, yesterday. He's taking part in the Drachenfest, which is one massive LARP event in the Westerwald, and I'd have loved to go there too, but I don't have anyone to take care of the cats then. Anyway, my brother was still looking for some stuff - a light fencing shirt; a cloak; mead for his hosts. And, lo and behold, he bought a fencing shirt and elf ears for me! Just like that! Sometimes, I have the greatest brother imaginable.
(I suppose he bought the fencing shirt in the egoistic hope that I'll practice LARP swordsmanship in the garden with him, but still!)

-We had a wonderful thunderstorm earlier this afternoon. Now it's delightfully cool outside and it's smelling nicely of wet earth and leaves, which is a smell I love.

-Tomorrow I'll finally see my dearest again! And at the end of the week, he's coming back for good!
Which reminds me, gotta pack.

So, I'll be gone till Tuesday. You be good 'till I'm back!

Um meine Lobpreisung der Worte für heute zu beenden: Ich habe gerade applegnats Vain Songszu Ende gelesen und... oh Mann. Ich bin so hin und weg, dass es nicht mal mehr heilig ist. Ich glaube, ich sterbe gleich an Schönheit. Oh meine Güte. Nol, ich bete dich an.

Andere positive Dinge:
- Gestern habe ich meinen Bruder zur Schatzkammer, einem LARP- und Mittelalterladen in Köln, gefahren. Er fährt nämlich zum Drachenfest, und ich wär ja auch so gerne hingefahren, aber ich hab ja keinen, der auf die Katzen aufpasst. Jedenfalls brauchte mein Bruder noch ein paar Sachen - ein leichtest Fechthemd; einen Umhang; Met für seine Gastgeber. Und, oh Wunder, er hat mir ein Fechthemd und Elbenohren gekauft! Einfach so! Manchmal habe ich den besten Bruder der Welt.
(Vermutlich hat er das Fechthemd ganz eigennützig gekauft, damit ich im Garten mit ihm LARP-Schwertkampf übe, aber trotzdem!)

- Wir hatten heute Nachmittag ein wunderbares Gewitter. Jetzt ist es draußen herrlich kühl und duftet nach nasser Erde und Blättern, was ich total gern mag.

- Morgen seh ich endlich meinen Schatz wieder! Und am Ende der Woche kommt er dann endgültig zurück!
Was mich daran erinnert, ich muss noch packen.

Also, bin bis Dienstag weg. Benehmt euch, bis ich wieder da bin!

Einer der Schatzkammermitarbeiter hat bei mir von Mittwoch auf Donnerstag übernachtet. Etwas größer, sehr schlank, Brille, Haare in einem (lockigen) Zopf, eher Richtung Dunkelblond und nicht unattraktiv. Alex heißt der gute Mensch.

Am currently wondering in what language I should be commenting. I default to English on the 'net, so I decided on that.
LARP! *melts* too bad you can't go. I only went once with my brother, but I absolutely loved it (spent over an hour discussing life philosophy with an elf and then tried to teach that elf and some others at the table to read and write... so much fun I've seldom had.) Fencing shirt! Good for you, let's hope you can use it sometime soon! And elf ears. I'm jealous - I'm 1.56m tall, so the only thing I can play other than human is hobbit. Or skinny, beardless dwarf.

*g* I'm 1.69m "tall", so I'm not exactly the perfect type to play an elf, either. But a friend wants me to play Gil-galad in a sketch of hers on Ring*Con, so I have to get those ears...

Yes, I'm often wondering in what language to comment in German lj-users' journals - most of them write in English, some in both, but English feels more natural on the web, somehow...
