So I got up early; so I went up to the attic to be as high up as possible in this house; so I stared out to the East.
Of course it was cloudy. The clouds were beautifully colored by the rising sun behind them, of course, but I can have that any old morning (if I rose early enough, that is).
In August 1999, the only cloudy day was the day of the solar eclipse. And by now, the sun is shining brightly, it's steaming hot and there is no cloud at all. Figures. Why couldn't the clouds be gone by 5:30 already? C'est trop injust!

It's also unfair that I have to prepare my stupid presentation instead of going down to the lake with my former classmates. Stupid presentation.

Actually, I should work on it now instead of being here. Gnah.

Random Ranting IV

These are the things I love Cologne for.
After preparing the group introduction to our topic, I went back to my car through the park. Since the weather was hot again, there were people everyhere, like colorful islands in a sea of green. From the Institute of Japanese Culture the sounds of strange instruments and drums was coming over the lake, mingling with a conga and the songs of a group practicing capoeira. Near the Institute, a big Japanese family was having a barbecue. Most of the women were wearing kimono, two of the men wore hakama. The only thing missing were swords.
Everyone seemd so relaxed and happy; I was almost sorry to leave.

And where else do people go for a walk on their roof.

I have been infected with muffin-mania. Made 24 Muffins. More tomorrow. *giggle*

It's amazing how soothing a screensaver can be. I could spend hours watching the little green katakana and numbers scroll down the black screen. I don't see through the code yet, but it is really relaxing.
