Well. To explain yesterday's post:
Today was my Japanese re-examination.
Of which I had known ever since I failed the language exam in July.
Which, theoretically, would have given me two months to prepare.
Of which I used about two days.
Which, as nobody will be surprised to hear, just doesn't work well.

Surprisingly enough, the exam went exactly like the last attempt (when I was better prepared). I actually knew some more kanji this time, which was pure, pure luck. I did far too much guess-work again. I actually made the SAME STUPID MISTAKE I made last time IN THE SAME STUPID SENTENCE (because two of the sentences we had to translate were taken verbatim from the original exam), and screwed up most of the other sentences.

I need 42 points* to pass; I am fairly certain I have 35. The rest depends on the kindness of Watabe-sensei's judgement and interpretation.
Now I must hope.
Because if I fail this again, my nice intermediate exam will count as failed as well in spite of the good result, because I then lack a certificate that I need to be permitted to take part in the first place. Ahahahah.

... Yeah. The world sucks. Earthquake in Pakistan, Umbridge Merkel will be Chancellor (Chancellorette?!), the Ring*Con is over, and I have likely failed Japanese again. Hurra.

* Which finally lets us know what The Question is: How many points do I need to pass my Japanese exam? - 42. Perfect. Of course, it might also be, How many orcs did Gimli slay in Helm's Deep in the book. But that's beside the point.
