Fine. I deleted yesterday's rant, but today, it's going on air. Let there be Drama.

"It really sucks when a canon character, particularly a major one, is OOC."

Which totally doesn't apply to at least half the characters, even the major ones in their respective canons, on DF. Oh, no. Of course not. Especially not those your puppets like to interact with. Or those of your clique. Never.

"And the way she treats people that she should respect-"

Whom, please?

"The worst example was the dog-petting thing, really"

And that is necessarily OOC? Because someone who tries to convert people's way of treating house-elves would never ever tell them how to treat animals? Sorry, I don't get it.

"If we're thinking of the same person, then she hadn't even read the bloody books when she joined."

Has our dearly beloved Eöl- and Saeros-typist ever read the Silm? Just asking. Or did she just need every possible reminder about the character because it's so far in the past and she can't remember anything?
Would you swear that all of our LesMis muns have actually read the book/s, or don't you think one or two might just be running on the musical and/or one of the many movies?

By the way: She had.

"...especially about her trying to break the magical rules of the universe."

PROVE. IT.

Seriously? The last thing one needs are immature, inane, selfish teenagers, who stick only to the rules they like or made up themselves, who're incapable of getting their own lives sorted out and wine about not being respected when they've done nothing to deserve respect, telling them what to do.

And let me just add something entirely for myself, because I've been swallowing it for far too long:
YOUR. PRESETS. ARE. NOT. FUNNY. ANYMORE. They were never really funny, and now that the amusement has worn off, they're really just annoying.
The same goes for the Eruawful "your mom" joke, which wasn't even funny when I was in kindergarten and CERTAINLY shouldn't be funny amongst people who have been out of kindergarten for a while.
Also for "O RLY", but that's not your fault alone, so I'll let that pass.
Anyway, rule of thumb - and listen up now, because this might be important:
Passing fads are only funny as long as they gracefully pass when their time to die has come at last.

You know what? Excuse my Middle English, but FUCK YOU.

Right. I could go through this and argue it with you point by point, but I'm not going to. I don't have the time, the energy, or the emotional togetherness to deal with it.

First of all, the 'incapable of getting their own lives sorted out' comment was downright cruel, below the belt, and had absolutely no relevance. That's really the most upsetting thing to me. Insult my puppets, fine. But some people have gone through a lot of shit in life. I'm not saying you haven't. And I'm not saying you don't understand. But if you do? You really should think more before saying something like that.

Second of all. Different things are funny for different people. Personally, political jokes? Don't do anything for me, whether or not I understand them. Don't tell someone that something is not funny just because it is not funny to you. It's not true that it 'isn't funny'. You just don't appreciate the humor. There's no problem with that, but if you have a problem with that, you're just as guilty of the sins of not dealing with problems and peeves as the rest of us are.

Third of all, and this is the only thing I will say about the character Hermione. The thing that annoys me most about her is when she as a character is used in a moderatiing capacity. It is not Hermione's business to run the main room. The moderator is Leany, not her puppet.

Oh-- wait. I lied. One more about Hermione. The thing about respecting people? In the books, I seem to remember her respecting authority, and people who were her elders. There were times when she was under extreme duress, or when she knew they were wrong, or it was dangerous. But she was an extremely respectful young woman. There's OOC, and there's OOC. That is too painfully out there for me to accept. So I should have said something to Leany, yeah. But I didn't say anything at all up until yesterday. I'm no more guilty than you are of anything.

First of all, Yes, I suppose it was. That's because I personally consider hate a pretty damn strong word, I suppose, which in turn made me snap. Why yes, that can happen.*

Because, secondly, I am just as human as everyone else. Of course I'm as guilty of those "sins" as the rest of you. But hey, you may not have noticed it, but I haven't so far bitched at people about it. I have tried to ignore it, because I KNOW that you find it amusing and enjoy it. Fine. But if you insult my friends, I might shoot back. Yes, even below the belt. Even with irrelevant stuff. Because I don't see why I can swallow stuff and others can't. I'm no that different from my sock there. Some people call it bleedover, I think.

Thirdly, right. No, it isn't. Yet, she can comment on other people's behaviour and habits - just as any other puppet can, say, ask indecent questions or harass other puppets or whatever. Yes, perhaps she went a bit overboard. If that's a reason for HATE and ZOME DICTATORSHIP, however, I quit.

There's no authority on DF, as has been discussed several times, albeit amongst puppets, not amongst muns. And whom of her elders, her authority figures, did she disrespect?
Yes. You could have said it in a different way, though. Or at least a bit more elaborately than "Yes, can we say hate?". It's hard to change things when your only input is "hate", you know.

First: I never said I hated the mun, or even the character. That was not meant to be read so far into.

Second: And I had not bitched about it until yesterday. So really, we're quite even.

Third: Who said 'dictatorship'?

Lastly: She seems to hold little respect for even the friends of hers who are older and wiser. That is what I mean by 'elders' and 'authority figures'.

I hate the way some things are done. We both have every right to our opinions.

First: No? How else was it supposed to be understood, then?

Second: Unless you count the constant bitching in chat, I suppose.

Third: - what Rika said. I shouldn't comment on you apparently "signing" that post without having read it in full, but.

Lastly: Like what friends? Mulciber? And I don't know, my friends aren't really authority figures to me, not as a rule.

Yes, yes. Of course.

First: Same way I say I 'hate' my mother. Things she does, says, not her.

Second: When did I bitch in chat?

Third: Just because I don't remember exactly what was said doesn't mean I didn't read it in full. I read it, agreed with it, and "signed" willingly.

Lastly: No, not so much M. But I would think someone like Fea. And I still have respect for adult friends of mine. *shrug* But maybe I'm the only one around Hermione's age who has that quirk.

First: Ooooh. My bad for misreading that comment, then. Or maybe it just wasn't entirely clear from the context. I mean, it wasn't entirely clear that by "not getting one's own life sorted out" I meant mostly the same shit I do with my RL. Such as spending too much of it in front of a computer, failing at what should be more important, and being just generally not much good. And lo! It's not below the belt to say that of myself, but it is when I just generally put it there and everyone reads it with their own interpretation in mind.

Second: Wellll, there was that time when Leany - asked that you discontinue using one of your presets, I think, which didn't yield much more than "It's just for fun", and some of the snide side-remarks, and there's M's behaviour yesterday, which happened before the post...

Lastly: Well, I tend to respect my friends too, but that doesn't make them authority figures or shining paragons of virtue, really. And if they behave in a silly or downright stupid manner, I either snark at them or tell them. But maybe I'm the only one who can treat the same people with both respect and humour, depending on the situation.

First: It was not at all clear from the context, and I am well aware of that.

Second: Leany did not ask me to discontinue use of any of my presets. I have log of the conversation. M was being a bitch, and still is- Just ask Cissa.

Lastly: Depending on the situation. Thank you.

First: Then don't complain about people reading it that way.

Second: That was a while ago. Which is why I brought it up in order to show that you didn't start to, shall we say, show anti-Leany sentiment just yesterday. I'm weird like that.

Lastly: Yes. Which is why she usually treats Fëa with respect, but when he was being a right old grump, she made fun of him. Don't worry, though, Fëa didn't get the joke either.

From: [identity profile] gods-griffin.livejournal.com
First: I didn't complain, darling. I explained.

Second: How is that anti-Leany? And you don't know how I feel. I may act a certain way because I'm having a bad day, but you don't know how I feel or what I'm thinking.

Lastly: Fair enough.

First and second in one: Of course not. But I only get what I see. Often enough, it looks like bitching just because you don't like the person in question. If that's wrong, well, there's that context problem again. Which actually seems to be what this whole thing boils down to.
