Of course I didn't manage to finish the painting for Cele. But I think she liked the Vain Songs a lot, so it didn't matter. Thank you a thousand times,
applegnat! I only reached chapter 17, but that was already quite a lot - and she was really impressed.
I had nothing for Wolvie, but there was a group present for her, so that was no problem. Besides, Wolvie is apparently still angry with me because of that stupid argument back in August (or rather, because I dared to say that I wouldn't bother to argue anymore and that she should just do what she wanted, and apparently she thought I meant that I didn't want to have anything to do with her), so any present would have looked like bootlicking or something.
Whatever.
But the evening was still very nice, except for a heavy headache that set in as soon as I left home. And I was horribly sore because of the afternoon's practice, of course.
The headache left after some sleep.
I didn't get more than some sleep, though. Apologies to my dearest, whom I probable awakened with every toss and turn - but I woke up at 4am and didn't manage to fall asleep again until almost 6am.
Then today was that damn Westfalen-Cup tournament. Which is, by organization and by definition, a county tournament. For some reason, for that tournament Westphalia extends to include Leipzig, Halle, Magdeburg, Baden-Baden, the Netherlands, Belgium and Romania. WTF. Generally, the big question is whether the Romanians or the Magdeburgers win the cup in the end (this year, it was the Romanians), and all the others are justcannon combat fodder. Unsurprisingly, I didn't get beyond the second preliminary round in kata.
However, I managed a third place in jiyu-kumite (free combat), and our women's kumite team (consisting of Claudia, Carina and me) even reached the second place, winning against the team from Magdeburg but losing against the Romanian team. During the last fight, my Romanian opponent planted a fist on my right cheek, so I'm really glad I wore my tooth guard today (usually I don't, because it's icky and annoying). I saw nice stars for the next half hour, but afterwards, it seemed to be alright, though the cheek is still hurting, and the headache is back.
Oh well.
And I spent all day from 9:30 am to 8 pm in a stinky stupid gym. Way to waste one of the last days of summer. Also spent most of that time trying to reconcile an otherwise really friendly, understanding, gay referee with his somewhat hitlerish hairstyle and beard. WTF 2.
